I woke up at 5am and checked out and dragged all my stuff down and out to the bus station on Waverly Bridge (right next to the train station). Edinburgh was so quiet and empty in the morning. I didn't see any cars or people and it was nice and cool and misty out.

A bus passed me as I was going down the hill so I started running but when I got there there were 2 buses so I got on the front one and right after I got on it left. The bus free was ridiculous! It was 6 pounds! Thats more expensive than a bus day pass.

I drank my applejuice in the bus. There were about 4 stops before the airport but we got there within a half hour.

I was there so early that the United desk wasn't even open yet which was annoying because there was no sign for it so I walked up and down the whole desk area twice looking for it before I asked. Then after someone told me exactly where it was I found it cause the queue ribbons said united on them. All the staff were just hanging out and having a pep talk and it was sorta annoying. Then they finally checked me in and I checked my one bag. Then she said they were fully booked and asked if I wanted to check my other one too so of course i said yes. Sadly the weight scale was in kilos so I didn't even get to see how close I was to not making it. Thats always a fun game.

Then I went upstairs. I wanted to take a picture with the big Edinburgh sign which was outside but I decided I'll do it next time I fly into Edinburgh. It's like the I AMsterdam sign but it says edINburgh. I had so much time so I got breakfast at Caffe Nero. They served the scone with salted butter and jam which was weird.

Then I went through security which was fast and then went straight to the gate. There were no signs about what flight was at which gate but I just followed what it said on my ticket and app. The airport is super small and didn't even have TVs at each gate desk.

There was a duty free store so I bought a Bobbi Brown lipstick I wanted with my leftover cash.

Then I went and sat at my gate behind this kids climbing thing like they have in Wegmans and I read.

The plane boarded on time and I had a window seat. I slept almost the whole time. I woke only for the snack which was pesto flavored crackers and slept through the meal which was rice and some meat and then I woke up for ice cream which was ginger flavored and tasted bad and my stomach weird. I was also awake for the next meal which was little cold cut sandwiches which I did not eat. I slept pretty well. I think I've mastered the positions of sleeping on a plane. Theres the classic head against window which sorta kinks your neck sometimes, then theres the sleeping on the tray table classic, then I have discovered that I can pull my knees up to my chest and sit in a little ball and sleep on my knees, theres also the sleeping with your chin on your chest but held up by the neck pillow.

The flight was weird cause I guess I was on the side of the sun cause my window was heating up a lot so I couldn't rest my head against it for too long or it would literally burn. Vaguely concerning.

I slept through most of the flight but towards the end I sat and read and finished my book.

It was sorta weird cause there was a guy sitting in the middle seat when we left but at some point he disappeared and he was not there when we landed. We lost one along the way I guess.

I went to the bathroom and changed as always when I got off in good ol NWK. Then I got my luggage pretty quick. The annoying part was then we all had to funnel through 1 line to declare stuff that moved moderately and then we had to do the whole immigrations thing which is weird cause it has the computer things and then that gives you a receipt with a picture of your face and then you have to wait on line and go to a desk and give the guy your paper.

Mom and Lu picked me up at the airport and brought a bagel! Lu was excited.

I unpacked and showered when we got back and hung out with Lu and read. The Reading Rush(previously Booktubeathon) starts today which is gonna be rough this week since the relatives are all here the exact dates of it.

Dinner was salmon and peas! It was soooo goood. I've missed Dad's cooking so much.

I read and only made it up til 8pm. (However I would like to clarify I don't get jetlag I was just exhausted from travel and not sleeping well.)
