Day 24 VCUK-2 Jul 2019

I woke up and worked on the JWT brief and worked on my blog and listened to classical music and ate breakfast. On the news part of the classical channel today they said that a man stowed away on a plane and (it's suspected) when the landing gear came out of the plane coming into Heathrow he fell and landed in a garden of a man who was sunbathing. Could you imagine sunbathing in your garden and a man falls out of the sky and dies in front of you that's crazy. The news here is generally better. They hear about all the problems in the whole world and also domestically. I wish we did that. I hear about the US but also the problems in China right now and war between US and the middle east but also how there was a violent protest in parliament here yesterday and how the new election is going.

I think I'm going to see Midnight Summer's Dream in the park on Wednesday with the one British girl I met the first day here at Nando's. We've been messaging on instagram and she's into plays and musicals a lot and goes to historical buildings a lot too.

I was having a great morning until Krista came in and told me she didn't do her part of the JWT that we were presenting to Bill this morning. Yes we still have 3 ideas to present (because I did 2) which is all we needed but I'm annoyed that she didn't do what we agreed on but honestly I'm not surprised. She then got annoyed at me for being frustrated and told me that my illustrations weren't as good as hers and I don't put as much effort in so she did as much work as me anyway and I shouldn't be mad. She also told me that she meant to do it late last night but then she went out last night and so she couldn't. And I told her that's not an excuse cause I wanted to go out but didn't because I finished my work first before hanging out with people. She made it worse by arguing with me that I shouldn't be mad when I just needed my space to process my anger and get over it. I'm so utterly frustrated with this project and with her.

Today we went to AWG and presented our ideas so far for JWT. JWT is due thurs and the bench is due monday. Our presentation went fine obviously which she pointed out but it went fine cause I did my part and I made us a deck (powerpoint). If I hadn't done anything then we would've only had her single poster that was the wrong shape. We were originally supposed to go to Pentagon today but they've cancelled on us again and Bill's working on it. Pentagon is a super important design firm and it's apparently very important we meet them and hear about them cause it might help us get jobs later on just from knowing them. I found out that the queen owns 30 corgis and I think that is INSANE. She also invented the dorgi which is a dachshund x corgi.

It's beautiful out.

After AWG I went back and had lunch and then went and hung out in Radish's apartment all afternoon and did work. We went to the Royal College of Art end of the year exhibit and all the stuff was super cool but I wasn't in the mood and it was all super deep and not really graphic. I was also having really bad cramps. So we all left early.

Then I worked more and did all three posters for the JWT project and I'm gonna do the 4th one too so that they're all in a cohesive art style but also because I don't foresee Krista actually finishing on time or doing it cause she's notorious for never handing projects in and somehow getting extensions forever and always passing classes nonetheless. I do think my illustrations are worse than hers and hers are way cooler but they take her forever and these just need to be general sketches and my art is still a valid illustration style.

I had dinner and then went with a group to the Euston Flyer pub around the corner and we watched the US vs England Women's World Cup game! I got a guinness and it was a great time. We chatted with these two old british men and then this other group of 3 bald men about soccer and sports. US scored 9 minutes in and then england scored. Then US scored again at around 30 minutes. Both of ours were headers and were beautiful. Then England scored but it was off sides so they retracted it! The energy in the bar was crazy! And there were a few other groups of Americans there. Then second half was also good and wild and there was a PK on our goal that they completely missed. Then an england player got a red card, unclear why. It was wild but we won 2-1. Rapinoe never played and I dunno why I think she's hurt maybe from last game with her ankle. At the end of the game everyone chanted USA and then we said good game to our new friends and left.

When we got back Love Island was still on and it was a crazy episode where we find out if they guys stayed loyal to their original coupling or choose the new girls. Then afterward we watched Naked Attraction which is the weirdest show I've ever seen. In England they don't censor nudity.

Then I took a shower and went to bed.
