Today is PRIDEEEEEE.
I got up early and was pumped to goooo. But they weren't gonna leave til 11 which is a bad ideaaaa. I'm a bit upset but eh whatever it'll be fun anyways. The parade starts at noon so I wanted to leave at 10 cause it'll take atleast a half hour to get there and I know the tube will be a mess and then if were there an hour early we should be able to get right on the barricade spots on the street.
I watched Netflix all morning and just hung out.
We ended up not leaving til noon and I was so antsy and probably annoying. We went to Bond Street and then walked over to Oxford Circus. It was packeddd. We ended up just walking down along the parade route for a bit. Then they decided they were hungry for lunch which also made me vaguely annoyed cause we had literally just got there and now they wanted to leave. We ended up staying together and most of them got Subway and then we stood on the route for a bit. Then we wandered down further.
Sam Smith was there in the parade so we followed him on the route for a bit which was sorta dumb. Like it's cool to see a celebrity so close but I can't say he's a big celebrity I was majorly starstruck about.
Then we wandered down to Picadilly circus which was cool cause there was people everyone standing all over the fountain and everything. We had split up by this point and we went to a Tesco's and bought drinks. I didn't get anything though cause I wasn't in the mood. Everyone was just walking around drinking blatantly and I'm so confused by the alcohol laws here. I think it's technically illegal to drink in public but I see people doing it all the time in parks and such and the police seem to not care at all. I would love to drink casually in a park but I will not cause I'm not out here trying to go to jail.
Julia and I left around 2:30 when we had made it down to the Mall. Julia and I walked down the mall and saw Buckingham cause she's never see it yet. She freaked out which was fun. We chatted and she said she wished she did more touristy things like I did.
Then we walked through the park over to the Westminster tube station but we passed this lady feeding peanuts to pigeons. Julia's one goal for this trip was to hold a pigeon so we stopped and she chatted with the lady and the lady gave her a peanut and then the pigeons landed on her and ate from her hand. I wanted to vomit. I am absolutely disgusted. I took pics for her and decided I will never stand near Julia again. She apparently doesn't like NYC pigeons because they are "rats with wings" but she thinks London pigeons are adorable and cute. I think they are the same but the London ones definitely are more used to being fed and have no fear of humans.
We walked through the park and I showed her Horse Guards Palace and the little fairy house and Churchill's War Rooms entrance and Westminster Abbey and the scaffolding that is Big Ben and then we took the long tube ride home.
Sadly I did not see Dan Howell or Phil (famous gays of London from youtube) or the Fab Five or Sam Heughan(the guy from Outlander)(who was there apparently).
When we got back I took a shower to try to get all the glitter and rainbow eyeshadow off but was unsuccessful. I know from Disney experience I'll have glitter in my hair for the next two weeks. I've really been missing Disney recently.
I watched RuPaul and Hwarang all afternoon and night and finished eating all my snacks I had bought. I dunno if I should buy more cause we only have a week left.
Today I KCON NYC and all my KoDACC buds are in the city doing KPop stuff and going to the BTS Exhibit. I really really hope they extend the dates of the BTS Exhibit but it doesn't look like they will so I'm bummed. I can't believe so many things happened at home this summer. I really missed out on a bunch. Literally noting happened last summer and I was borreddd but this summer I'm having a blast in London and Britain but missing out so much at home. (cousin's grad party, Texas cousins visiting, BTS NYC exhibit happening the exact dates I am gone, KCON NYC at Javits center this year!, Try Guys at the Strand, 3 Disney Movies released, Stranger Things Black Mirror and HandMaid's Tale new seasons released, BTS putting out soooo much content but I refuse to watch it here because I want to enjoy here, a BTS Game App and a Harry Potter Game App released which I would be playing a lot if I had service lol, next door neighbors Bat Mitzvah). But honestly I'm having a great time and have seen so much and experienced so many new things and the only real thing I'm missing is Lu.
